Foods not compatible with braces
Things to remember…
It is very important to avoid hard and sticky foods which may break brackets off your teeth or dislodge wires. It is also important to reduce your sugar intake while you have braces in place. Please don’t open your water bottle with your teeth, don’t chew your fingernails or your pen.
Eating the wrong foods can cause breakages, which will extend your treatment time.
Foods to avoid:
- Crusty bread
- Pizza crust
- Tough meat
- Whole apples and carrots
- Ice cubes
- Hard or chewy lollies like minties, redskins, fantales
- Excess soft drink or juices
